Todd discovered his passion for construction when he began his career as a carpenter 20+ years ago. After graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree from Duke University, he went on to receive a Master’s Degree in Real Estate and Construction Management from the University of Denver. His aptitude in finance, combined with his field experience, led to his next role as a commercial estimator. When an opportunity arose to become a superintendent, he accepted the challenge, getting back into fieldwork, and eventually becoming a project manager. As Todd gained a holistic view of the construction industry, exposed to all aspects of the business, he realized his purpose: to raise the industry standard of doing business, and prove that great quality can come at a fair price with positive relationships with clients, owners, contractors and laborers. By founding Tober Building Company, Todd and his team guarantee a high standard of quality construction services with efficient planning, direct communication and competitive pricing on each project regardless of its scale or scope.
Over the course of his career, Ryan has overseen dozens of commercial construction projects with contract values near $300 million, accounting for more than 2 million square feet of space. A skilled estimator and project manager, Ryan has extensive experience with complex, fast-track projects for Health Care, Retail, Senior Housing, Multifamily and Higher Education. As TBC’s Director of Preconstruction, Ryan is instrumental in ensuring that our clients receive the specified quality and value for their finished projects.
During his 15+ year career, Kyle has served in field and office capacities for a variety of project types across multiple industries. Ultimately drawn to Project Management and Estimating, he’s functioned exclusively as a Project Manager recently, but also as an Estimator for the previous 5+ years. Kyle has extensive experience with Historic, Multifamily and HUD projects and meeting the strict parameters that often accompany these projects (i.e. gov’t funding, MBE/FBE, workforce requirements, etc.).
Tim is from Akron, Ohio and has an undergraduate degree in public policy from the University of North Carolina and a masters degree in education from Ursuline College in Pepper Pike, OH. After spending ten years in the field of education, Tim joined TBC in 2016 as a project superintendent. Since then he has successfully run several projects including Stoney Pointe Commons, a 4-story, 68-unit, new construction project in Akron. Tim enjoys running, playing golf, and spending time with his wife, Melissa, and three children.
Lisa has twenty eight years of construction experience both in residential and commercial scopes of work. Having worked in sales, accounting, project management, and design has provided her with a general understanding of the industry that is necessary to effectively manage a construction office. Lisa enjoys golfing and spending time with her family.
Bruce has 45 years of sales experience in the industrial packaging industry. He worked for 35 years with Sonoco Products before he retired in 2003. He started in field sales and moved up the chain to sales manager, then field sales manager and finally to strategic account manager until he retired. After he officially retired, he still stayed at Sonoco as a private contractor for 10 more years. As a private contractor he worked on special projects, assisted with rollout of new construction products, setup a warehouse in Ontario, Canada and recaptured the brand recognition for Sunoco Products in Canada. Bruce has also been married for over 50 years, has raised 3 children and now has 9 grandchildren.
Melanie graduated from Youngstown State University with a master's degree in chemistry. She worked as a senior researcher at The Cleveland Clinic in the Cell Biology department of the Lerner Research Institute. She also worked in safety and compliance at Amresco before joining Tober Building Company.
Before coming to Tober Building Company, Russ had a career in sales and managing production factories. He was the fabrication supervisor and rotor shop manager for 7 years at Metso Minerals Best. After, that he worked for Frameco DBA Metal Framing Industries as a plant manager and a project manager. During that time, he also took a job in sales and consulting for Medina County Welding. With Russ’s diverse and thorough background in manufacturing, he is a proven asset for Tober Building Company.
When Russ is not at work he is always on the go. He fills his free time up by playing and coaching his daughter’s teams and enjoying time with family and close friends.
A skilled carpenter and foreman, Chris is most proud of his work on Canal Park’s multiple stadium improvement, where he met a strict opening day deadline for the Akron RubberDucks inaugural season. Away from work, Chris enjoys coaching his daughter’s soccer team and spending time outdoors.
An accomplished senior executive, Jason has an impressive history of driving revenue, profitability, productive cultures, and an exceptional customer experience with operational solutions. He's a creative problem solver who's tasked with developing and executing strategies to optimize TBC's business systems, and drive its growth.
Jason served four years active duty in the United States Marine Corps and has helped optimize and streamline companies since 2002. He is married to his beautiful wife, Kara, since 2009 and they have two children together.
Aaron has worked in the electrical trade since he was a child. His father is a seasoned 50-year licensed electrician and made it a point to teach, Aaron AC/DC theory at a very young age. Aaron trained with his dad through high school and immediately jumped into the ABC Apprenticeship program. Graduating in the top 3 of his class and earning an electrical journeyman’s license. From there, Aaron, worked his way up through the electrical trade.
Leaving his hometown of Medina, OH he moved to Charleston, SC, where he worked running crews on notable, ground up, multi-million-dollar projects such as Boeing Flight-Line, Naval Weapons Station 996, MUSC Children’s Hospital.
He currently has 20+ years of electrical experience in residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
He is glad to be back home in the great state of Ohio! Where he enjoys baseball (GO GUARDIANS!), hockey, and rebuilding his Jeep.
During his 15+ year career, Jamie has spent most of that time in various Architectural offices completing everything from proposal drawings to construction documents using the latest versions of Revit. Two years ago, his specialization in Revit and Architecture brought him to the software side of Light Gauge Steel Framing. In this role, he supported the sales team by giving trainings both on-site & online, and technical support for the software product.
Upon joining Tober Building, he looks forward to using his skills to increase the efficiencies in off-site light gauge construction. In his free time he competitively throws axes.
Clinton began subcontracting through Tober Building Company back in 2017, and proceeded to sign on full time in 2020 as a General Laborer, but he has also ascended to Carpentry, Finisher and Operator for different projects at Tober. He is now acting as a Project Engineer as he continues his career path with Tober Building. He thrives on operating and finishing out punch lists, to get the job completed in a timely manner. he has been in the construction field as a career for 5 years but has had an affinity for doing odds and ends type work throughout most of his life. Clinton enjoys the company of his friends and family, while playing outside games and enjoying a nice bonfire. He's also a self proclaimed water bug, so anything he and his family can do in the water, they enjoy as well. His main day to day hobby is sitting down to enjoy his amazing, large, fish tank at home.
Jessica joined Tober Building Company in 2019 and serves as Assistant Office manager. She also worked as a professional cosmetologist for six years, five of those years were spent in North Carolina, where she managed her own business, alongside a nannying career. During this time, she became aware of her love for customer service and management. Upon moving home to Ohio, Jessica chose to pursue a full-time career in nannying. She has been a professional, full-time nanny for the past 10 years. She is enjoying her role as Assistant Office Manager and is extremely grateful to be a part of the Tober Team.
Jessica fills most of her free time with her son, Ray, and her partner, Mike. Together they love going on adventures and trying new things. Jessica is passionate about travel, CrossFit, and singing. Jessica's family and friends are everything to her.
Mike joined Tober Building Company in 2019 as a fabricator for ToVee, which is TBC’s Modular Manufacturing Facility. He then started working with his father, who is a mason, and does all types of construction. When Mike was younger, he would help tear off roofs, hang drywall, mix mortar, and cement, and learned a lot from his experience with his father. After using tow motors, and Lull's, he found he likes operating machines, and is even certified with a Class 7, and tow motor liscence. He was able to get back into construction in his 20's, as a metal, and steel framer. With his 5 years of manufacturing experience, and 10 years construction experience, he was promoted to lead framer, then began running his own line, and finally quality control at his former employer. Now he runs the Howick 5600 and Howick 7800 roll formers for ToVee.
In his free time, Mike likes to play guitar for fun, and used to be in a band when he was younger. He also loves being a father to his daughter.
Charles, aka "Tony", joined Tober Building Company in 2020 and is a plasterer, painter, and carpenter. Tony owned his own company for several years and worked as a contractor on quite a few large projects such including Findlay, Wesley Tower, and Stoney Pointe II prior to officially joining the Tober family of Companies.
In his down time, Tony enjoys spending time with his family back home in West Virgina.
Chris joined Tober Building Company in 2019 and serves as Structural Modeling and MEP Designer for ToVee, which is TBC’s Modular Manufacturing Facility. He has an extensive work history in the world of metal studs, with over a decade of hands on experience in structural steel framing, architectural curved track, and light gauge ornamental projects. It was a natural transition to wall panel design, and drafting, given his background in computer design, and processes of light gauge metal fabrication. Before joining ToVee, Chris spent 2 years as a panel drafter, using Vertex BD to design panel drawings from 3D models. His journey with ToVee started on the floor, learning various operations, and capabilities of our roll formers. After creating drawings, and altering CSV codes for our Howick roll former, he began working in Revit and MWF, designing wall panels, trusses, and floor systems, not to mention all aspects of MEP design. He is also heavily involved in the design, and detailing, of structural steel, on many of the TBC projects.
In his personal time, Chris enjoys creating many different types of art, including traditional, digital, and 3D printing. Outside of spending time with his fiancé, cats, turtle and fish, he enjoys drumming, which he's been doing for over 20 years.
Dan joined Tober Building Company in 2021 as an Apprentice Carpenter. He has 20 years in concrete leveling experience and spent 10 years as a small business owner, so he brings vast knowledge to his role at Tober. In his free time, Dan is an avid pool player and he also enjoys playing golf.
AJ joined Tober Building Company in 2021 as a carpenter, and he specializes in framing siding decks. He's been in the construction field for 10 years and enjoys inputting his creativity and practicality into the quality of everything he builds. In his off time, AJ enjoys camping and golfing with his family and friends, but his favorite hobby is kayaking.
Michael joined Tober Building Company in 2021 and serves as Director of Real Estate Development. He brings a unique mix of experiences in the fields of business administration, real estate development, regional planning, and architecture. For the past 20 years, Michael has applied those skills to be an innovator in community transformation. His work in this field has positioned him at the forefront of the national discussion of emerging subsidy models with Public – Private Partnerships and mixed-finance utilizing complex funding sources. He was involved in the first Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) project in Ohio. He played an integral role in developing a repositioning strategy for CMHAs portfolio of over 9000 public housing units. and has sat on numerous expert panels with industry groups such as CLPHA and NAHRO to help lead the discussion of challenges and opportunities that face affordable housing development professionals. He also recently served as a board member of Village Capital Corporation.
Michael is a Registered Architect with a demonstrated commitment over the course of his career to help create great spaces that allow neighborhoods to transform and thrive. Michael enjoys applying the same creative energy to pulling together complex development deals that he does to the physical design process.
Anthony joined Tober Building Company in 2021 serving as Director of Design. His 38 years of design, construction and management experience, along with tradesman, estimator/project manager, business/salesman, construction admin, and architect skills, optimizes design, development, and construction processes. Always innovating better ways of building, designing and managing construction process, he ensures communication between TBC and other parties, to gain higher levels of service and quality
Josh joined Tober Building Company in 2021 and serves as a BIM Modeler for ToVee, which is TBC’s Modular Manufacturing Facility. He has 14 years of experience working in the drafting department for a builder of single-family homes in the Northern Idaho and Eastern Washington area, alongside 2.5 years of experience modeling CFS, wood and SIP panelized walls for multi-family projects located across the US. His drive for excellence makes him the perfect fit for the design team at TBC and ToVee.
Taylor joined Tober Building Company in 2021 and serves as a BIM Modeler for ToVee, which is TBC’s Modular Manufacturing Facility. He has a bachelor’s degree from University of Colorado’s School of Architecture and Planning. Taylor has modular design experience in multifamily and single-family projects using CFS, wood and SIP panels, along with experience in the manufacturing sector. He holds several patents in the industry and seeks to be on the leading edge to progress the industry further.
Derik joined Tober Building Company in 2021 and a welder for ToVee, which is TBC’s Modular Manufacturing Facility. He is originally from Puerto Rico, but has lived in the US now for five years. He has been a welder and manufacturer by trade for 8 years and studied at Mech-Tech College in Ponce, Puerto Rico.
In his down time, Derik enjoys playing basketball, spending time with his family, exercising, and playing video games among other things.
Austin joined Tober Building Company, ToVee & Atlas Frameworks in 2021. He comes from a retail and machining background. Austin was a manager at Under Armour, as well as, being a machine operator for four years. In his free time he enjoys golfing, fishing, spending time with friends and going to concerts and sporting events. He truly enjoys spending time in the mountains of West Virginia.
Dalton joined P&G Electric in 2022 and serves as Electrical Apprentice under Aaron Christopher. He is very interested in learning everything he can about the electrical trade, and went to school at the Maplewood Career Center, where his interest was first sparked. He is determined and eager to assist the P&G Electric team in commercial electric projects, and continues to gain experience, and a better understanding of electrical work while learning. His hobbies include hunting, shooting, riding, and fishing.
Larry joined P&G Electric in 2022 and serves as Project Manager. He started his construction career as a freshman in high school for a small construction company. During his junior and senior year of high school he attended Portage Lakes Career Center studying Industrial Electricity. He graduated top 3 in his class. From there he was employed by a large construction firm in Akron, OH. working on several multimillion-dollar projects.
Larry started at the City of Green in 1990 in the service department and retired after 31 ½ years. While working for the city he attended Associated Builders Contractors Inc and started his apprenticeship training. He graduated number one in his class and then earned his State Electrical License. As a third-year apprentice he was selected to compete in the National Craft Olympics placing 5th in the nation.
After graduation Larry formed his own electric company, doing ground up residential and commercial projects in NE OH. His passion is projects on historical buildings.
He has been married to his wife Anna for 34 years and has two sons ages 26 and 28. His passion is teaching apprenticeship and shooting sports with Boy Scouts.
Rod joined Tober Building Company in 2022 and serves as Project Superintendent. He has been a Superintendent for 10+ years, and a Journeyman Carpenter for 14 years, focusing on home building. He utilizes his experience to get jobs done efficiently and reliably with hands-on project management.
Joe joined P&G Electric in 2022 and serves as Electrical Apprentice under Aaron Christopher. Joe worked in the HVAC field before this, and still holds his HVAC License, but is looking to expand his knowledge and expertise into the Electrical Field. His background in the Army has taught him to always do whatever it takes to get the job done. He is a hard worker and quick learner. In his down time, Joe enjoys spending time with his wife, children, and friends.
